If your coworkers are idiots, you’ve settled for a career that can be done by idiots. If you desire more in life, utilize your intellect and step up your game. Free your mind of prioritizing the security of your job above the reward earned through risk. The only reason we live in the US is because our ancestors weren’t afraid to get on a boat. Quit expecting to get ahead while treading water in the mail room. Lindbergh took to the sky, Easy E got in the booth and JK Rowling kept writing. Happiness is found in the pursuit. Choose a vehicle that suits your capabilities, rip down the rear view mirror and go hammer down. May the mistakes you make serve as lessons of your legacy.

Maybe drink a little less of the piss Kool-Aid your company is spewing and come up with your own recipie for career success. 

I had removed all the fallen leaves from my front yard. It looked spectacular. Upon returning home that windy evening, most of my hard work was unrecognizable due to having shitty neighbors that chose not to rid their own yards of leaves to my left and right. Lesson learned, be careful who you surround yourself with. Their attitudes, goals and standards will ultimately affect you.

The clarity of a rock bottom purge is beneficial to all, yet feared and avoided by most. One who finds themselves there time and time again has yet to listen to what is being taught. 

I saw a bald eagle soaring the freedom skies of northern Michigan today. It was a picturesque moment that would’ve made Bob Ross pause on the canvas to wipe a single tear. I nodded and the eagle winked. He flew overhead for but a short time, soon we’d parted ways to the tune of Whiz Khalifa. Veterans Day comes once a year, but I hope it’s not that long before I see you again. May your searing screeches on high remind us that freedom is not free, but beers at the bar tonight better be. A poetic salute to my brethren of all branches on this day.
